About Us

who we are

OUR FOUNDATION

Mumma Bears Rising is a lived-experience-led space founded by a mother who has experienced separation from her children.

It exists to hold space for stories, voice, connection and understanding, and to ensure mothers navigating this experience know they are not alone.

This is not a clinical service or legal organisation. It is a space built from lived reality - shaped by love, grief, resilience and the ongoing search for meaning, healing and hope.

At its heart, Mumma Bears Rising is about one thing - no mother walking this path should have to do it in silence.

Mumma Bears Rising was created in response to that reality - not to define mothers by their circumstances, but to give voice to experiences that are often unseen, misunderstood or unheard.

If you have found us, welcome. You are seen, you are heard, and you are not alone.

what guides our work?

OUR PILLARS

Mumma Bears Rising is guided by three interconnected pillars: Voice, Connection and Hope.
These pillars reflect our commitment to ensuring mothers feel seen, heard and supported.

Voice

Creating space for mothers to share their lived experiences safely and without judgement. Through storytelling, podcast conversations and community dialogue, we create opportunities for mothers’ voices to be heard and understood.

Connection

Creating a space where mothers can find understanding, belonging and support through shared experiences.
Through community, connection and compassion, we remind mothers that they are not alone on this journey.

Hope

Creating space for mothers to find hope, healing and a sense of possibility beyond their current circumstances.
Through stories, support and connection, we nurture the belief that brighter days and new beginnings are possible.

Our Work

WHAT WE DO

Mumma Bears Rising brings together storytelling, connection, and lived-experience–led awareness through:

  • Safe spaces for mothers to share their stories in ways that feel right for them.
  • Podcast and conversation-based storytelling that brings experiences into the light.
  • A private, supportive community where mothers can find understanding and connection.
  • Advocacy and awareness shaped by lived experience.
  • Gentle resources and reflections to support emotional wellbeing, grounding and hope.

Everything we do is guided by care, consent and respect for the wellbeing of the women who share their stories with us.

LOVE IS OUR FOUNDATION

This is the principle underneath everything we do.

Love remains.
When children are absent…

Love remains.
When we feel unseen or unheard...

Love remains.
When grief is overwhelming…

Love remains.
When mothers begin healing...

Love remains.
When women support each other...

Love remains.
Always.

Love is not erased by circumstance.
It simply finds new ways to exist.

A GENTLE REMINDER

Every mother’s journey is different, every story is valid, and every voice matters.

There is no timeline for healing and no right way to move through this experience. You are welcome here exactly as you are. You do not need to suffer in silence. Your life matters, your story matters, and you deserve compassion, connection and hope as you navigate this path.

A Special Message from the Founder

Mumma Bears Rising was born eighteen months after I last held my children.

Like many mothers who experience separation from their children, I have lived through grief, fear, disbelief and a kind of loss that is almost impossible to put into words. I spent three years navigating the Family Court, trying to find my way through a world I never imagined I would have to enter.

There were times when the pain felt all consuming. But somewhere along the way, I realised I had a choice. I could allow what had happened to define me, or I could find a way to turn my pain into purpose.

That became Mumma Bears Rising.

I created this space because I know what it feels like to be a mother whose greatest loss can be almost invisible to the outside world. To miss the everyday moments. To carry an enormous amount of love with nowhere for it to go. To feel misunderstood, judged or completely alone.. and I know I am not the only one.

There are mothers everywhere quietly carrying this same grief, trying to keep going while a part of their heart feels missing.

I don't pretend to have all the answers. I don't think any of us do. But I do know what it feels like to walk through this, and I know how much it can mean to have someone say, “I see you. I understand. You don't have to do this alone.”

Mumma Bears Rising has come from the hardest chapter of my own life, but it was created for so much more than my story. It's a place for mothers to find connection, understanding, strength and hope when they need it most.

If you have found your way here, I hope you feel something I needed for myself for a very long time -

You are not alone.
