A Hopeful Story

by Mumma Bear | Posted on July 17, 2026

The news that came out today is incredibly powerful, and I want to share it far and wide.

A mother who lost her children through the family court system has had them returned four years later, by the father.

For so many mothers who have lived through family court, this story will bring up so much, because it speaks to the devastating reality of what can happen when a mother raises concerns, fights to protect her children, and finds herself separated from them by a system that is supposed to protect families.

What happened in this case is exactly why so many mothers have been begging for these conversations to be heard. Behind every decision made in a courtroom are real children, real mothers, and families living with the consequences long after the final order is made.

For years, mothers have been sharing their experiences of feeling unheard, unsupported and devastated by outcomes that have changed the course of their children's lives forever. Today, one of those stories reached a much wider audience through the ABC, and that matters.

The more mothers who are brave enough to share what they've experienced, the more we can shine a light on what is happening, and the more pressure there is for real change. Today, my heart is happy, because I really feel things are shifting in a more positive direction.

If you've been impacted by the family court system, know that stories like this one are exactly why we keep telling ours. The more voices that come forward, the harder this becomes to ignore.
